Instead patrons will be dancing in the aisles and bursting out in laughter at the GTS Theatre's two holiday shows for 2018 – the Motown Christmas Tribute and the Crazy Country Christmas in Dixie – A Redneck Style Holiday Variety Show. Unlike the more somber, traditional Christmas tributes, these two shows are designed to spread some holiday cheer through laughter and the smooth sounds of R&B.

Located only a short drive from Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort, the GTS Theatre offers a more low-key setting than some of the upscale theaters on the Grand Strand. The small and intimate setting is perfect for the quirky and off-beat Crazy Country Christmas – A Dixie Redneck Style Holiday Variety Show, as well as the laid-back grooves of some of the top Motown tribute acts in the business.

Back by popular demand and updated each year, the Crazy Country Christmas in Dixie offers a unique twist on the holiday show experience with lots of laughs and comedic musical numbers. Performances include spoofs on Christmas classics and hits like “Leroy the Redneck Reindeer”, “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” and “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.”

Debuting in November, the new Motown Christmas Tribute is a spin-off of the popular Motor City Musical that runs year-round. The new show features a talented cast of singers, dancers and performers specializing in tributes to famed Motown artists like the late, great Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye, as well as acclaimed bands such as The Temptations and The Supremes.

The Motown Christmas Tribute gives guests a front-row seat to the star-studded showcase, but odds are you won't be sitting down for very long as audience members often find their way to their feet to dance along to the music. Although the holiday version of the show includes slower, more soulful versions of Christmas classics, there's also a solid lineup of dance numbers.

The GTS Theatre also offers several other shows throughout the season, including Beach Party – A Tribute to the '60s, Michael Bairefoot's Comedy Magic Show, and Elvis Live – A tribute to the King. Performances are held six nights a week with a few exceptions, as well as some matinee holiday shows. For more information and a full schedule of events, visit www.gtstheatre.com.
