Celebrate Labor Day Weekend in Myrtle Beach and Save at Compass Cove
Labor Day weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is the perfect time and place to say farewell to summer, and Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort provides the perfect opportunity.
Located on the Atlantic Ocean and beautiful beaches near the downtown district, Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort is close to all the Labor Day weekend festivities in Myrtle Beach. And to make things even easier for our guests to take an end-of-the-summer beach retreat, Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort is also offering several specials to kick off the fall.
Although Labor Day weekend officially kicks off Saturday, Sept. 1, Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort begins its fall specials Aug. 26, allowing visitors to start saving on their vacations a full week before the holiday. The discounts continue throughout the rest of the year in case you can squeeze in another beach getaway later in the fall.
Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort offers three autumn specials: Free Fall Nights (stay two night, get one free) for folks looking for a brief retreat; Autumn Adventures (30 percent off and two free breakfasts at the on-site Compass Rose Restaurant); and Fall for the Beach (35 percent off when you stay three nights or more) for guests with longer stays.
Start making your plans now to spend Labor Day weekend on the Grand Strand, where a long list of festivals and entertainment are on the menu. Here are some of the highlights you don't want to miss:
* Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival (Aug. 31-Sept. 1): This 13th annual event features just what the name says - music, dancing and mouth-watering food. Held at The Market Common, about 2 miles from the resort, this event allows patrons to sample barbecue, chicken wings and other tasty meats made by 25 competing cook-off teams from all over the Southeast. There's music and dancing at the main stage, a beer and wine garden, vendors, classic car show, and kids play area - truly an event for the whole family.
* Festivities: Various venues on the Grand Strand host free summer-long festivals with live music and other entertainment, and the grand finales are set for Labor Day weekend. Visit the last installment of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk's “Hot Summer Nights” and Barefoot Landing's “Summerfest” on Sept. 1, or check out Broadway at the Beach's “Summer Nights at Broadway” finale on Sept. 2.
* Fireworks: Send summer out with a bang at one of three, free pyrotechnics displays around town. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Barefoot Landing launch their salvos at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, while Broadway at the Beach blows it out at the same time on Sunday, Sept. 2.
* Mustang Week: Thousands pay annual homage to the ultimate American muscle car beginning Labor Day weekend at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. From Sept. 2-9, the classic cars roll into the parking lot and cruise down Ocean Boulevard for fans to see. The festival features a car show, cruise-ins, food and more.
In addition to all the special events taking place in Myrtle Beach on Labor Day weekend, the Grand Strand also offers a wide variety of other attractions and activities to enjoy. Close out the summer with a deep-sea fishing trip or dolphin-watching cruise, go parasailing or jet-skiing on the open waters, or visit one of the many water parks before they close for summer. For a less adrenaline-filled adventure, check out all the local shops, restaurants and theaters in the area, or simply relax on the beach and by the Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort pools to soak up the last drops of summer.Back to All Resort News
