Make a Splash at Compass Cove and Other Myrtle Beach Water Parks
Guests at Compass Cove don't need to leave the property to have a splashing good time at a water park — there's one in their own backyard. Located on the Myrtle Beach oceanfront in the downtown district, Compass Cove offers one of the best on-site water park resorts on the entire Grand Strand, giving our guests the ultimate way to get wet and wild on-site.
However, if you are looking for an invigorating experience of the aquatic kind, Myrtle Beach offers a range of options. Featuring water parks with thrilling waterslides and mat rides, wave pools, lazy rivers and kiddie pool playgrounds, Myrtle Beach is also home to several hybrid facilities that include everything from go-kart racing and putt-putt golf to amusement parks and roller coasters. So whether you want to chill on the premises or go exploring, here are four great places to take a daring dip:
Compass Cove: Staying and playing at Compass Cove makes sense for families that enjoy adventure. In addition to our easy access to the beach and ocean waves, Compass Cove also has several on-site attractions that make it a fun place to make a big splash. Our duo of waterslides — the Compass Crusiers and the Schooner Screamer — offer a twisting ride down the pipes and into the awaiting indoor pool, which features a covered deck with a lazy river and hot tubs. On the main patio deck overlooking the ocean, Compass Cove boasts two more lazy rivers that wind around with the relaxing sound of crashing waves in the background. Indoor and outdoor water facilities include pools and Jacuzzis for adults and the Silly Submarine Splash Deck for the little ones to play in a safe and fun environment. Best of all, it's all absolutely free for those staying at Compass Cove.
Myrtle Waves: The largest water park in South Carolina has it all — speed slides, mat rides, water chutes and even a new surfing simulator that will have you hanging 10 and having a great time. The Turbo Twisters, Riptide Rockets, Arooba Tooba and Snake Mountain are among the dozen or so waterslides on-site, and the park also boasts a wave pool, lazy river and kiddie splash decks to accommodate the whole family.
Splashes: Located in the heart of the downtown district, Splashes is the Grand Strand's only public water park on the oceanfront. A large tower overlooks the ocean and serves as the launching point to the speed slides and twisting rides that splash down in the pool below. A lazy river and kiddie pool area are also available, and guests can purchase all-day wristbands to both Splashes and sister attraction Family Kingdom, which is located just across Ocean Boulevard. Roller coasters, go-karts and other thrill rides are among the dry-land attractions to go along with a day at the water park.
Wild Water & Wheels: Located in nearby Garden City Beach, this water park is perfect for those with a need for speed. In addition to its high-flying waterslides and thrill rides, Wild Water & Wheels also offers a wide selection of go-kart tracks for your racing enjoyment. Wild Water & Wheels also offers a variety of wet and dry attractions, such as the wave pool and lazy river or the putt-putt golf course and high-tech arcade. The Live After Five Friday promotion features live music poolside and half-priced admission after 5 p.m. Fridays.
Of course, water park-loving Compass Cove guests can always avoid the traffic and simply stay and play in their backyard at the resort. It’s one more reason families find it affordable and fun to be our guests.Back to All Resort News
